Cloud Infrastructure for Manufacturing and Industry

In manufacturing, when IT systems stop, the line stops. When your ERP doesn’t respond, shipments stall; when your production tracking system drops out, that shift’s data is lost.

portvMind runs workloads with high continuity requirements on a redundant, local infrastructure. You design the systems that must stay in the factory together with your cloud environment, and you carry out the move in stages.

Industry Challenges and portvMind Solutions

Continuity

In critical business applications, downtime translates directly into lost production and cannot be recovered.

On portvMind: You set up a redundant architecture behind a Load Balancer, a disaster recovery scenario between the Istanbul and Ankara regions and a recovery plan you can rehearse with Backup.

Hybrid Structure

Some systems on the production line have to stay in the factory; moving everything to the cloud is not possible.

On portvMind: With Router you design a controlled crossing point between your factory network and your cloud environment and carry out the move in stages.

Multi-Site Operations

Multiple facilities access the same systems from different points; running separate servers at each location is costly and hard to manage.

On portvMind: With a central cloud infrastructure all locations use the same system. The hardware and maintenance burden per location disappears.

Seasonal Capacity

Production volume fluctuates seasonally; fixed hardware cannot adapt to these fluctuations.

On portvMind: You scale resources up and down seasonally. Because metering is based on the time resources are running, cost also drops when the busy period ends.

Migrating Legacy Systems

Moving applications that have run for years to the cloud looks risky, and most organizations postpone this step.

On portvMind: We analyze your existing virtual machines, prepare the migration plan together and provide end-to-end test support. The cutover happens in a maintenance window you choose.

Making Use of Production Data

The data collected from the line accumulates but creates no value unless it is analyzed.

On portvMind: With an Object Storage data lake and GPU-backed analysis capacity, you can process your production data on the same platform.

Recommended Service Combination

Service Role
Compute ERP, production tracking and business application servers
Block Storage Application and database disks
Backup Scheduled backup and rehearsable recovery
Load Balancer Redundant service delivery
Router Controlled connection and segmentation with the factory network
Object Storage Production data archive and long-term retention
GPU / AI Compute Production data analysis and visual quality control

This combination is a starting point; we adapt it together to your current system structure.

Typical Architecture

Your ERP and production tracking applications run redundantly on Compute behind a Load Balancer. The database tier sits on full-flash Block Storage and is kept in a segment closed to the internet with Router.

You design a controlled connection point between the systems that must stay in the factory and your cloud environment. That way the components that must run uninterrupted on the line stay in place, while central applications move to the cloud.

The backup policy is tied to a schedule with Backup. Because short recovery time is critical in production systems, bootable backups stand out: when a problem occurs you bring the environment up from a backup instead of building it from scratch.

The production data archive accumulates in Object Storage. If you have analysis workloads such as quality control or predictive maintenance, you use GPU resources in the same region and process the data without it leaving.

Frequently Asked Questions

The migration is done in stages. We analyze your current environment, prepare the plan together and test the move end to end. The cutover happens in a maintenance window you choose; migration consulting is free of charge.

A controlled crossing point is built between your factory network and your cloud environment with Router. We determine together which system stays where.

Thanks to bootable backups you bring the environment up from a backup instead of building it from scratch. You can rehearse your recovery plan regularly without affecting production.

Yes. With a central cloud infrastructure all locations access the same system; you don’t need to run servers per location.

No. Your data archive sits in Object Storage and you can run your analysis workloads on the same platform with GPU resources. The data does not leave.
