vMind Sitesine Geri Dön

Cloud Infrastructure for E-Commerce and Retail

In e-commerce, the most important day of the year is the day your infrastructure is pushed hardest. If your site doesn’t respond on the morning of a sale, you lose that day’s revenue. But paying for that capacity for the other three hundred and sixty days of the year makes no sense either.

portvMind meets both needs at once: it gives you capacity the moment you need it and takes it back when the campaign ends. Because resources are metered for as long as they are running, cost drops the moment you scale down.

Industry Challenges and portvMind Solutions

Sudden Traffic Spikes

A campaign, a sale day or an ad that takes off; traffic can multiply within minutes, not hours. Fixed-capacity infrastructure cannot absorb the surge.

On portvMind: You increase capacity by growing the server pool behind the Load Balancer. If you use Kubernetes, the replica count scales automatically according to the rules you define.

Post-Campaign Cost

If high capacity becomes permanent, so does the cost. Most teams forget to scale down after the campaign.

On portvMind: Metering is based on the time a resource is running; cost drops the moment you scale down. By defining a budget threshold you notice forgotten resources.

Image and Media Load

As the product catalog grows, image and video volume multiplies; this load strains the disks and bandwidth of application servers.

On portvMind: You move static content to Object Storage. Data transfer is not charged for access within the same region, and your application servers only run the application.

Cart and Stock Data Consistency

A database bottleneck at peak load is directly lost sales; an abandoned cart doesn’t come back.

On portvMind: Transaction data runs on full-flash Block Storage. By moving the reporting load to a separate server you protect production performance.

End-User Speed

For your customers in Turkey, page load time directly affects conversion rate.

On portvMind: Content is served from the Istanbul and Ankara regions; access is noticeably faster than with infrastructure serving from regions abroad.

Protecting Order Data

A faulty operation or corruption in order, payment and customer data creates irreversible loss.

On portvMind: With the Backup service you define a nightly backup policy. Thanks to bootable backups you quickly bring the environment back when a problem occurs.

Recommended Service Combination

Service Role
Load Balancer Balancing campaign traffic across servers
Kubernetes Instant response to traffic surges with automatic scaling
Compute Application servers and background jobs
Object Storage S3-compatible storage for product images, catalog and media
Block Storage Low-latency disk for order and stock data
Backup Scheduled backup of order data
GPU / AI Compute GPU resources for image processing and recommendation models

This combination is a starting point; we adapt it together to your current architecture.

Typical Architecture

In a typical e-commerce setup your application servers run behind a Load Balancer with at least two replicas. Before a campaign you add servers to the pool; the load balancer automatically includes the new nodes in traffic. If you run on containers, you do the same on Kubernetes by increasing the replica count.

Product images, catalog files and static content sit in Object Storage. Because it is in the same region, your application servers’ access to this content is not charged. Order and stock data runs on low-latency disk on Block Storage.

You define a separate budget for campaign day and get alerts when spending reaches the thresholds. When the campaign ends you shrink the pool; because metering is based on the time resources are running, the savings start immediately.

If you have AI-assisted workloads such as image processing, search or recommendations, you run them in the same region on GPU / AI Compute.

Customer Stories from the Industry

Gürmen Group

Store systems, the e-commerce warehouse platform and AI-assisted design workloads run on portvMind. With GPU-backed Kubernetes clusters, product images are processed in real time.

Inomera

When traffic jumps tenfold during campaign periods, the infrastructure expands automatically and the service continues uninterrupted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before a campaign you grow your server pool and, if you use Kubernetes, define your autoscaling rules. You can see the cost of the expected capacity in the calculator in advance and define a separate budget for the campaign period.

Yes. Metering is based on the time a resource is running; cost drops the moment you scale down. You are not bound by a commitment.

In Object Storage. It doesn’t bloat your application servers’ disks, doesn’t cause problems when scaling, and data transfer is not charged for access within the same region.

We analyze your current environment and prepare the migration plan together. We carry out the move outside your campaign calendar, in a window you choose. Migration consulting is free of charge.

With the Backup service you define a scheduled backup policy. Backups stay in data centers in Turkey and you set the retention period.
